Hello. My name is Lisa Suarez. About a year ago, I decided I would like to own my own home. I heard about the Home Ownership Program through HAP. I was next referred to NeighborWorks Southern Colorado. I met with Cynthia. She helped me review my credit and establish a budget. I attended Financial Fitness with Rosella. This class helped me to make a plan to purchase a house and set goals on how to do it. I attended the Home Ownership class with Josephine which explained the steps I would have to take in order to become a home owner. I started this process in August 2016, and now I am the proud owner of a 3 bedroom home on Pine Street. It was a difficult process, but the staff of NeighborWorks helped me immensely along the way. With their help, I was able to improve my credit score, reduce my debt, save money, and achieve my goals. They are a great staff and they have great programs. I have referred a friend who is working with NeighborWorks now and is almost ready to close on his first home.
